The bucket may seem like an unlikely choice for protective headgear, but for some Wassies, it has proven to be a lifesaver. The sturdy plastic construction of the bucket provides a formidable barrier against predators such as birds of prey and larger mammals, at least more so than other headgear like Bottlecaps. As a result, bucket Wassies are often able to live longer than their unprotected counterparts, who are more vulnerable to attacks.

Despite the practical benefits of wearing buckets on their heads, other Wassies have found other uses for their fellow Wassie's choice of headgear. In particular, they have discovered that buckets can make excellent percussion instruments, producing a satisfyingly loud and resonant sound when struck. Aspiring Wassie drummers thus flock to bucket-wearing Wassies, hoping to have some time to practice on their fellow Wassie's bucket.

This phenomenon leads to hearing loss, tinnitus, and other hearing-related disorders, which can significantly impact the bucket-wearing Wassie's quality of life. In addition, the constant banging of buckets can be a nuisance to other Wassies in the fridge, causing other Wassies to beat up the drummers, or more frequently, the drums.
