Wassies are mentally disadvantaged but Wassies who take to wearing bottle caps on their heads are a special kind of handicapped. Surpassing the delusions of Sailor Wassies, Cowboy Wassies or even Bird Nest Wassies, these Wassies who don bottle caps achieve a whole new level of idiocy.
Wassies love shiny metal objects, and bottle caps are one example of shiny metal objects that a fridge-dwelling Wassie might get its flippers on. The average Wassie of questionable mental faculties would simply rip the bottle cap off, bathe in the liquids from the open bottle and squirrel the bottle cap away as some sort of trophy. But an especially idiotic Wassie might decide to sport the bottle cap as a hat and decide that it is now a bottle.
These Wassies pretend to be bottles and engage in bizarre bottle-like behavior, making a popping noise and starting to drool when the bottlecap is removed from their heads. If shaken prior to removing the bottlecap, they burp when the bottlecap is removed and sometimes begin vomiting.
Strangely, these Wassies are reasonably good at fending off small predators who are startled by the Wassie when the bottlecap falls off during the hunt.
