Birthday cones are often found on Wassies which have been 'adopted' by sympathetic humans although Wassies in the wild sometimes acquire these cones by scavenging.
Such apparel are often a gift from human owners to Wassies to mark special events. This could range from events in the family where the Wassie is kept as a pet or an event in the Wassie's life itself - often the 1st day of its life after respawning
Wassies sporting birthday cones are incredibly proud of their headgear and enjoy prancing about as if they were a Unicorn Wassie. Of course, unless they actually are a Unicorn Wassie, the cone tends to fall off quite easily. Wassies donning these cones have also been known to stash food under the cones and use it as a sort of storage space.
